Some of the Chile Basuritas packs contained items called Lamina Especial stickers.  The Lamina Especial stickers are labeled using letters of the alphabet.  This numbering system included letters A-N, Ñ, and O-W.  An alphabetical set consists of 24 Lamina Especial stickers, but there were also Lamina Especial sticker variations.  Each Lamina Especial sticker was printed in fluorescent green, fluorescent orange, fluorescent red, and fluorescent yellow.  There were at least two printings of the Chile Basuritas.  The red Lamina Especial stickers only came in the packages from the second (or latest) printing, and that is why they are the most difficult to obtain.  It is not easy to make an alphabetical set because the Lamina Especial stickers did not come in every pack.  Putting together an alphabetical variation set is an extremely difficult task.

There were 14 characters that were used in the sticker set of 150 and the Lamina Especial sticker set of 24:

     •
Sticker 146 Guillermo Quillento and Lamina Especial sticker "A" both have the same character
        on them.

     •
Sticker 150 Ricome Mocos and Lamina Especial sticker "B" both have the same character
on them, but the Lamina Especial sticker was incorrectly named "Rico Memocos"
        instead of "Ricome Mocos".

     •
Sticker 149 Don Tata Arrugoso and Lamina Especial sticker "C" both have the same character
on them, but the Lamina Especial sticker was incorrectly named "Don Tata Rrugoso"
        instead of "Don Tata Arrugoso".

     •
Sticker 8 Marite Nebrosa and Lamina Especial sticker "K" both have the same character
        on them.

     •
Sticker 27 Irma Tematica and Lamina Especial sticker "M" both have the same character
on them.  The Lamina Especial sticker has an accent in the name "Irma Temática",
but the sticker had character name "Irma Tematica" printed without an accent mark.

     •
Sticker 63 Bruno Queado and Lamina Especial sticker "N" both have the same character
        on them.

     •
Sticker 59 Roque Joso and Lamina Especial sticker "Ñ" both have the same character

Sticker 147 Papo Reado and Lamina Especial sticker "W" both have the same character
on them, but the Lamina Especial sticker was incorrectly named "Papo Rreado"
        instead of "Papo Reado".

Comparison List
The following list compares the sticker numbers and character names of the Chile Basuritas to the United States Garbage Pail Kids.  The Chile Basuritas sticker number and character name are listed first.  The United States Garbage Pail Kids Series is listed next.  The United States Garbage Pail Kids card number and character name are then listed.  This list will allow you to see what artwork was used for a certain card number, it will allow you to see how the series was arranged, and it will allow you to compare the names of the characters.  The Chile Basuritas stickers with an asterisk before the number are different than the United States Garbage Pail Kids Series.
The Chile Basuritas consists of characters from the United States Garbage Pail Kids 1st Series, United States Garbage Pail Kids 2nd Series, United States Garbage Pail Kids 3rd Series, United States Garbage Pail Kids 4th Series, United States Garbage Pail Kids 5th Series, United States Garbage Pail Kids 6th Series, United States Garbage Pail Kids 8th Series, and United States Garbage Pail Kids 14th Series.  There were also new paintings created for the Chile Basuritas.  In the Chile Basuritas, there were 21 characters from the United States Garbage Pail Kids 1st Series, 19 characters from the United States Garbage Pail Kids 2nd Series, 30 characters from the United States Garbage Pail Kids 3rd Series, 16 characters from the United States Garbage Pail Kids 4th Series, 19 characters from the United States Garbage Pail Kids 5th Series, 10 characters from the United States Garbage Pail Kids 6th Series, 17 characters from the United States Garbage Pail Kids 8th Series, 6 characters from the United States Garbage Pail Kids 14th Series, and 36 new paintings created for the release.  Out of the 24 characters used for the Lamina Especial stickers, there were 14 characters that were also used for the regular stickers.

There were a variety of items that Salo had put inside of the Chile Basuritas packs, and each pack had a unique mixture of stickers and inserts items.

Cupon Inserts - The Cupon inserts allowed you to buy one pack and get one pack for free.  That is why it has "2 x 1" on the Cupon insert.  The savings you would get from using the Cupon seems to be insignificant based on the original price of the packs.  The Cupon inserts came in green, orange, and yellow; but I speculate that they also came in red like the Lamina Especial stickers.

Lamina Comodin Inserts - The Lamina Comodin inserts were supposed to be used as "wild cards" when you were trying to complete the sticker album.  If you did not have a certain sticker number, you could use the Lamina Comodin in its place.  You were allowed up to three Lamina Comodin stickers per album.  Once the album was complete, you would be able to go to Blockbuster, Salo, or Village to redeem a prize.  The form to redeem the prize for completing the album is located in the center section of the album.  There was only one type of Lamina Comodin insert.

Los Niños Tambien Votan Inserts - The Los Niños Tambien Votan inserts were used to help promote voting for the next album to be released by Salo.  Children would be able to fill out the voting slip located in the center section of the sticker album and send it in to Salo.  They could select "Bromo Loca", "Tercer Milenio", "Animales Curiozoos", or give their own suggestion.  I am unsure of which album won the vote.  Currently, there are 9 different Los Niños Tambien Votan inserts known, and it seems that these inserts are only inside of the packs from the second (or latest) printing.

Pién Salo Y Actúa Inserts - The Pién Salo Y Actúa inserts promoted a cleaner, better, and more tolerant society.  They were supposed to be stuck in places and on objects, so that everyone could see the messages they were trying to convey.  Currently, there are 63 different Pién Salo Y Actúa inserts known plus 2 inserts with color variations on the front side.  The backs of the Pién Salo Y Actúa inserts seem to be printed in royal blue for the first printing and baby blue in the second (or latest) printing.  The color differences on the backs of the inserts were not included as variations on the Chile Basuritas Salo Insert Checklist.

Salomania Inserts - The Salomania inserts were pull tab games that you could win prizes from.  Prize 1 was a Salo wristwatch.  Prize 2 was a Salo fanny pack.  Prize 3 was a Salo folder, and I am speculating that it was meant to store the sticker album in.  Prize 4 was a Salo wallet.  Prize 5 was a piggy bank.  Prize 6 was a Basuritas sticker sheet.  Prize 7 was an unopened Basuritas pack.  Even if you were unable to win, you could still send in 10 losing Salomania inserts and get a free unopened Basuritas pack.  The Salomania inserts came in 5 different colors: blue, green, orange, purple, and red.

Sealed sticker album from the Chile Basuritas
The sticker album from the Chile Basuritas was very high quality.  The sticker album holds the sticker set of 1-150 and one alphabetical Lamina Especial stickers set.  I recommend never sticking the stickers in the album because it is always better to have "loose" sticker sets and an empty sticker album.  The sticker album came sealed with 50 unopened sticker packs, but you usually would find the albums out of the packaging and separated from the sticker packs.  The sticker packs were also sold individually and in boxes.  The sticker album has a variety of information regarding prizes that Salo and their sponsors were giving away.  The center of the album has a form for subscribing to Club Salo, a form for purchasing regular stickers and Lamina Especial stickers, a form for voting which album you would like Salo to release next, and a from for obtaining the articulated doll once you had completed the sticker album.  The album also has an address listing of where you can go to obtain the articulated doll and the other prizes.

Articulated Doll
Articulated doll from the Chile Basuritas
When the sticker album was complete, you would be able to claim a prize at Blockbuster (a video rental store), Salo (the manufacturer of the set), or Village (a store that sold stuffed animals and greeting cards).  The prize was an unusual, articulated paper doll.  The arms and legs are movable much like a cardboard, Halloween skeleton that you could hang up.  The character was created for the Chile Basuritas, but it is almost exactly the same as the United States Garbage Pail Kids 6th Series character 230a Manuel Labor / 230b Handy Andy.  The form to claim the prize was located inside of the sticker album.

Sticker Sheets

Sticker sheet #4 (orange) from the Chile Basuritas Sticker sheet #5 (orange) from the Chile Basuritas Sticker sheet #6 (orange) from the Chile Basuritas
Salo had also produced Basuritas sticker sheets.  There were 6 different sticker sheets needed in order to make a numerical set.  The sticker sheets came in fluorescent green, orange, red, and yellow just like the Lamina Especial stickers.  Since there were color variations, you would need 24 different sticker sheets in order to make a variation set.  The sticker sheets were very plain and came individually sealed inside of plastic bags.

Additional Notes
The contents of the packs were often damaged in the manufacturing process because they are tightly sandwiched together inside of the packs.  Tiny slits were cut into the wrapper, so the packs can be torn open.  However, those cuts sometimes went through the items, also.  It was not uncommon for the items to have impression marks, tears, cuts, parts cut off, or gloss problems; but that does not mean that you could not find items in mint condition.
